The Painter's Closet

This page features older works that have been stored or archived.  A couple of years ago I was talking to the artist Mark Daniels and we were discussing the fact that many artists have paintings in storage, often high quality works, which have done the rounds in galleries but have never found a home.  I too have a number of these works, some of which date from around 2003 when I first began painting in Arizona and New Mexico.  This page is a special page that features these works.  Feel free to email for more information:                                              neilmyersart@gmail.com
                              Canyon de Chelly  24 x 36 in, 2009.  Available

*This is a painting that has only been shown once, briefly, and has otherwise lived on my bedroom wall ever since.  It was inspired, with permission, from an amazing Marty Hulsebos photograph.
                                               Giant Sequoias, California  30 x 48 in 2008  Available
                      Arizona Agave  18 x 24 in 2007   Available

                                                      Lilies  24 x 30 in. SOLD

*  This is a painting that was briefly during my first one-man show in early 2009.  It is a painting that has not been shown since, but I think it's a fine work and is one I would count among my best still life works.

                                      Buffalo in a Field of Flowers  16 x 20, 2004   SOLD

Ladder to the Sky, Acoma Pueblo  24 x 30 in.  Available

*This painting has never been shown!
*This painting is difficult to appreciate on a computer screen.  It's a huge, plunging vertical of one of my favorite subjects, the Giant Sequoias of California.  I saw my first ones in a rainy grove at Yosemite in 2006, and have been in love ever since.
*This is one of a only a couple of pueblo paintings that were never sold.  It's pretty rare that one would ever come back to me!
